“This was such a Fantastic and unique experience! The drive from Reykjavik to the National Park is quick, not even 1 hour. You arrive there and have to undress and put on the swim suits. You have to be wearing one thermal layer, then you put on the dry suit, and then the wet suit. They are warm, so you don’t feel cold, except for your hands. But after you dive into the waters, you just forget about averythjng else, you don’t feel the cold, and just gaze into the the silence and peaceful experience of those crystalline waters. “Type 2 fun! The ride to and fro was timely and uneventful. Once we arrived, our guide was excellent and took good care of us for the duration of this experience. Bring warm thermals (and two pairs of wool socks!) and you will stay warm, except expect your hands and face to go numb (both are in contact with the glacial water). This January morning outing included a beautiful sunrise! It’s not a long swim, but it was enough for me. The water is crystal clear, the walls of the chasm is lined with volcanic rocks, with no flora or fauna. I’m glad I did it!”

“You spend about an hour getting into a dry suit. The instructions are endless. You can’t really move and you stand around waiting forever. We basically survived this excursion. There was nothing awe inspiring here. You float down a freezing river with burning, frozen hands and end up in a lagoon. The only purpose is to say you have done it. Would not recommend. It is exhausting to he the dry suit on and off and rather pointless”
